Is Your Pool Party-Ready?

Before you get ready for Memorial Day and the unofficial kick off to several months of summer fun, you want to ask yourself the question, “Is your pool party-ready? This is why you want to get your party right!

In this article, we look at prepping for your Memorial Day party so you can celebrate with friends and family while we remember the men and women who’ve fought for our freedom.

Whether you’re having a barbecue, swimming in the pool, soaking in a hot tub or doing all three, this checklist is for you.


Invite People to Your Memorial Day Party

If you haven’t invited people to your Memorial Day party, it’s not too late! Send them a text or a quick email. You can also invite people through your Facebook page.

When planning party size, thought, think about how much space you have and how many people you can accommodate.

Plan Your Menu

This is where the fun begins! While you could do traditional hot dogs and hamburgers, consider something different like chicken, ribs, brisket or sausage. Offer grilled veggies for those who don’t eat meat.

Decide if you’re providing all the food, or if you’ll have a potluck.

If you’re having a potluck, decide how many sides and desserts you need so you can parcel it out to people.

Set up coolers and beverage stations so everyone stays hydrated. If serving beer and wine, make sure you offer plenty of water.

Decorate

Celebrate the festive day with patriotic-themed decorations. Think balloons, streamers, flowers and American flags. Set out red, white and blue plates, napkins and cups.

If you’re party goes into the evening, don’t forget the lighting – think candles, lanterns and tiki torches.

Plan your play list as well because music adds the perfect ambiance to your Memorial Day party. Consider the age of your guests and make sure your tunes are pleasing to everyone.

Check out your patio furniture. Clean it so it’s sparkling and inviting. If you need new patio furniture, now is a great time to spruce up your backyard!

Check Your Water

If your party involves your hot tub or swimming pool, make sure the water is clear and sparkling before your guests arrive.

Check your clarifier and sanitizer and make sure your levels are correct. If you’re having water issues, reach out to our service department – we can help!

Set Out Extra

Have a few extra bathing suits on hand for those who forget. You also want to have a supply of towels for people who might need a fresh one.

Do also have a place where guests can comfortably change their clothes.
