BioGuard 1200V Multi Test Kit

BioGuard 1200V Multi Test Kit allows you to easily test your pool or spa water at home. Test for Free Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Acid and Base Demand. Accurate backyard testing. Includes chlorine residual neutralizer for accuracy.

This kit contains the following:

  • Test Tube
  • 50 DPD #1 Free Chlorine Test Tablets
  • 1 oz #2 Reagent Phenol Red Indicator
  • 1 oz #3 Reagent Acid Demand Titrant
  • 1 oz #3B Reagent Alkali Demand Titrant
  • 1/2 oz #4 Reagent Chlorine Neutralizer
  • 1/2 oz #5 Reagent Methyl Orange Indicator

Specifications

Test 1 Chlorine Residual (1.5 Ideal)

  1. Fill small tube to line.
  2. Add 1 DPD #1 Tablet.
  3. Invert several times to dissolve tablet and mix.
  4. Compare color chart with chlorine standard on the left.

Test 2 pH (7.4-7.6 Ideal)

  1. Fill large tube to top line.
  2. Add one drop Reagent 4 (If chlorine test shows over 3 ppm, add two drops), invert to mix.
  3. Add 5 drops Reagent 2. Invert to mix.
  4. Compare color with pH standards on the right.

Test 3 Acid Demand (if pH over 7.6)

  1. Use sample from pH test.
  2. Add Reagent 3 one drop at a time. Invert tube after each drop to mix. Count the drops added.
  3. When color matches that of 7.4 or 7.6 pH color standard, refer to acid dosage chart for required dosage.

Test 3B Alkali Demand (If pH below 7.4)

  1. Use sample from pH test.
  2. Add Reagent 3B one drop at a time. Shake tube vigorously to mix each drop. Count the drops added.
  3. When color matches that of 7.4 or 7.6 pH color standard, refer to alkali demand chart for required dosage.

Test 4 Total Alkalinity (125-150 ppm ideal for all pool surfaces)

  1. Fill large tube to bottom line.
  2. Add one drop of Reagent 4 and swirl.
  3. Add one drop of Reagent 5 and swirl.
  4. Add Reagent 3 one drop at a time. Swirl after each drop. Count drops added until color changes to orange or pink-orange.
  5. Number of drops of Reagent 3 times 10 equals total alkalinity.
