3 Tips to Play Pool Better

Ready to up your game? Technique is one of the best ways to maximize your game, and dare we say, win more often?

Check out our suggestions for taking your game to the next level. Here are three tips to play pool better.Tip #1: Be Still

Like any other sport, playing pool requires proper body position. You’ll greatly improve your game if you keep your body and your head still.

When you’re shooting, the only thing that should move is your arm. Sounds easy, right? It’s actually going to require some concentration to leverage this technique trick.

The next time you pick up your cue to shoot, really concentrate on your body position and movement. Do whatever you can to focus and remain still except for your shooting arm.

Tip #2: Relax Your Wrist

Again, we’re talking about movement.

Many pool players will actively use their wrist when trying to make their shot. By keeping your wrist too tight or even moving it, you reduce your accuracy.

Keep your wrist loose and don’t let it do the work for you. This also requires great concentration and forethought.

Tip #3: Use the Same Stance

Now that you are completely still, your head is stationary, your wrist is loose, and only your arm is doing the work to shoot, you’re in good shape.

Keep practicing so this body position becomes second nature. By practicing, you ensure that your stance is the same every time, and you have a better chance at making the shot.

Final Thoughts

Playing pool is about skill, cunning and practice. It also requires great concentration when it comes to your technique. Go over these tips in your mind every time you step up to a pool table.

The goal is to make these tips automatic so you can repeat them over and over. Good luck and happy playing!
