The Man Cave Garage
Your Man Cave Garage Conversion
Man Cave Garage conversions give men a place to relax and be themselves.
It’s a space free from distractions that they can call their own. Plus, it’s been said that man caves are therapeutic.
Man caves provide so many benefits!
In this article we’re going to discuss how to outfit the man cave garage. You can put your own spin on it with a few of the ideas mentioned here!
Step 1: Clean the Garage
Your vital first step is cleaning out your garage. Find a new place for tools and cleaning supplies. We bet you have some things you can give away or toss, too!
Then thoroughly clean the space – we’re talking floors, walls – the works.
Step 2: Prep the Space
If you’re going to spend time in your Man Cave Garage in the summer and winter, you’ll be much more comfortable if your space is insulated. That means the floors, walls, ceiling and the garage door. The price varies for this, so be sure to check around. Handy? You can always try it yourself.
Step 3: Paint the Garage
What’s your favorite color? Or, what about the colors of your favorite sports team? Depending on the “theme” of your man cave garage, you can tailor the paint colors to match. Hint: This is a great time to enlist the help of friends and family. They can help you work out paint colors and do the painting.
Step 4: Take Care of the Lighting
Even though it’s called a man “cave,” that doesn’t mean it has to be dark. Your next billiards tournament, poker night or Final Four game will be more comfortable with appropriate lighting. You can choose from traditional lighting, pendant lights, recessed lights or team-inspired lighting.
If you’re thinking beyond lamps and clocks, you might need to hire a professional electrician to install your lighting.
Step 5: Decide on Flooring
You can always go with the standard garage floor and paint it and seal it and add an area rug. Or, you can add laminate flooring or carpeting. For a man cave that’s as comfortable and as stylish as possible, splurge and go for nicer flooring – it’ll be much warmer in the winter!
Step 6: Pick Out Furniture
You’ve finished the man cave garage conversion, and now it’s time to furnish it. Here are some ideas for getting your man cave ready:
