Chipotle Honey Chicken Wings
Sticky and sweet, these chipolte honey chicken wings hit the mark with an irresistible spicy, sweet, and tangy glaze. We love them any time of year and anytime of day!
Ingredients
2 lbs. Chicken Wings, separated into flats and drumettes
Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub
Traeger Sweet Rub
3 cans Chipotles in Adobo
4 Tbsp. Butter, unsalted
1 Tbsp. Honey
2 Tbsp. Fresh Lime Juice
For Serving
Avocado Crema
Ranch or Blue Cheese Dressing
Lime Wedges, for garnish
Preparation
When read to cook, start the Traeger on Smoke with the lid open until the fire is established (4 to 5 minutes). Set temperature to 350 degrees F and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.
Spread the chicken flats and drumettes out on a baking sheet and season them lightly on both sides with a combination of the Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub and the Sweet Rub.
Place the chicken wings on the grill grate and cook for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, put the butter and chipotles into a saucepan and melt the butter over low heat.
After the butter has melted, puree the mixture in a blender or using an immersion blender. Whisk in the honey and lime juice. (Add more honey or lime to taste).
Once the wings are cooked-through, transfer them to a bowl and toss with the chipotle honey-lime glaze.
Serve the wings with avocado crema, ranch, or blue cheese dressing. Enjoy!
