Smoked Hibiscus Sparkler

Mom will love this aromatic infusion of hibiscus flowers combined with a smoked simple syrup. Treat her to this Smoked Hibiscus Sparkler on any special occasion!

Ingredients

1/2 Cup water

1/2 Cup Sugar

2 Tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers

1 Bottle sparkling wine

Crystallized ginger, for garnish

Instructions

When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 180℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Place water in a shallow baking dish and place directly on the grill grate. Smoke the water for 30 minutes or until desired smoke flavor is achieved.

Pour water into a small saucepan and add sugar and hibiscus flowers. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until sugar is dissolved.

Pour 1/2 ounce smoked hibiscus simple syrup in the bottom of a champagne glass and top with sparkling wine.

Drop in a few pieces of crystallized ginger to garnish. Enjoy!

Strain out the hibiscus flowers and transfer your simple syrup to a small container and refrigerate until chilled.
