Strawberry Shortcake

Homemade shortcake cookies, piled high with whipped cream and fresh sliced strawberries, will cure your sweet tooth. Make Strawberry Shortcake every day this summer!


4 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp butter, plus more for brushing
3/4 cup cream
2 cups fresh strawberries
1 cup whipped cream


Start the Traeger grill on Smoke with lid open until fire is established (4-5 minutes). Set temperature to High and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.

While grill is preheating, mix together dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Cut in butter. Mix in cream.

Using a cookie scoop or large spoon, scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake in center of grill for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.

Let cool or serve warm with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Enjoy!
