Throw a Spooky Halloween Hot Tub Party

If you’re like many people this time of year, you’re planning your Halloween costume and thinking about having a party.

This is a fun holiday for many because they can dress up, transform themselves into one of their favorite characters and enjoy a fun-filled day or evening. In this article, we’re going to show you how to throw a spooky Halloween party to wow your guests.

First steps, first, though…

Clean Your Frightful Hot Tub

You may want to scare your guests, but you don’t want to terrify them with a filthy hot tub. It’s imperative that you make sure your water is clean.

Bring us a sample of your water, and we’ll perform a free water test and tell you just what you need. You also want to make sure your hot tub filters are clean. Doing these things means your guests can soak in sparkling clear, clean water.

If it’s been more than four months since you added fresh water, you might be up for a drain and refill. After all, fall is a good time for this. After you drain your spa, clean all the surfaces, refill, and add the proper chemicals.

Send Out Spooky Invitations

With the internet, it’s seems like it’s never too late to send out invitations. You can invite your guests with a simple email or look for an online invitation company like Evite to send some spooky invitations. Get creative and play on your Halloween theme.

How many people should you invite? Think about not only the size of your backyard, but the size of your hot tub. A small, intimate party means inviting less guests, and they’ll probably all fit in your spa.

If you want a bigger party, that’s great, too. Some people may be dancing and having fun while others enjoy a luxurious soak.

Do let your guests know to bring the bathing suits, pool shows, towels/robe. Have extra towels on hand for those who forget.

Decorate with a Scary Theme

If you’re trying to create a spooky-themed party, you need the right decorations. Check out Pinterest boards for some ideas.

Next, consider your hot tub. You might add colored lighting to create a spooky ambiance. Think purple or green.

Then, start adding décor inside your home and out to set the tone. Think bugs, tombstones, witches, skeletons, rats, snakes, cobwebs and more.

If you really want to make an impact, rent a fog machine to create a really eerie feeling around your hot tub. Finally, don’t forget the perfectly spooky Halloween music.

Play Some Terrifying Games

Games are fun for everyone. Here are some of our favorites.

  • Costume contest – this is always fun and ensures your guests will make the extra effort to dress up. Consider giving the winner a prize.
  • Schedule scary story time in the hot tub. For those who aren’t soaking, have some chairs near the spa so they can settle in as well. Look online for some stories to tell or ask a friend who loves to tell frightening stories.
  • Scavenger hunt – the scarier, the better. Put together a list of items that’s sure to give everyone a chill and send your guests out in small groups.

Add Some Deliciously Horrible Food

Food is another area where you can get creative. Again, you can hit the Pinterest boards for ideas. You want food that looks like bones, bats, eyeballs, and cobwebs.

When it comes to drinks, consider a blood-red drink. Do make sure to keep alcoholic drinks and glass out of the hot tub. Have plenty of water on hand, too, so your guests stay hydrated in the hot tub.

Remind guests that food needs to also stay out of the hot tub. To help them remember, keep the food nearby, but not too close.

To Conclude
