Create Healthy Habits with Daylight Saving Time
With Daylight Saving Time this weekend, it’s your perfect opportunity to create some new healthy habits!
Don’t hit the snooze button to sleep an extra hour, use this extra time to set your week on fire!
We think the best way to create healthy habits is to use that precious morning time to start your day on the very best footing! How do we suggest you do that? In your hot tub!
Say No to Your Snooze Button
Did you know that hitting the snooze button can make you more tired than just getting up?
During Daylight Saving Time in November, you are naturally going to wake up earlier because you are getting an extra hour of sleep. You have just a few days to take advantage of this extra hour before your body gets used to it.
So, use the extra hour to create healthy habits. What do we suggest?
We suggest an early morning soak in your hot tub to start your day off right. You’ll feel relaxed while enjoying the warm water massage. While relaxing in the outdoors, you can mentally prepare for your day!
Plan Your Day the Night Before
Now that you know you are going to be extra productive, start your day off right – the night before. Here are some suggestions.
- Start your coffee the night before and set it to brew about 10-15 minutes before you get up. This is a great habit to get into as it saves you precious time in the morning to do something you really want.
- Set out your towel and bathing suit so you’re ready to soak first thing in the morning.
- If you are exercising before or after your soak, set out those clothes and shoes, too.
- Plan your outfit for work the night before.
Soak in Your Hot Tub
This is the absolute best way to start your day!
The mornings are cool, and there’s nothing quite like soaking in warm, massaging water. Plus, if you wake up stiff and sore, your hot tub will get rid of your stiffness and leave you feeling great!
Visualize your Day
While you’re soaking in your hot tub, mentally walk through your day. Visualization techniques help everyone from CEOs to athletes and even politicians. So, they can help you, too.
Here are some things to visualize:
- What does your day look like?
- What do you actually want it to look like?
- Will you exercise?
- What are your goals?
- What tasks do you need to complete?
- Is there anything you will do for self-care throughout the day?
- Are you going to spend time with family or friends?
- Do you have any errands to run?
You’ll find that actually visualizing your day helps it run smoothly. And if you encounter a bump in your day, you can pivot easily and move on t the next thing.
Make Time for Meditation
Your morning or evening hot tub soak is a great place for contemplation and meditation.
We love meditating before we begin our day. Consider an app called Headspace. It will guide you through an easy 10-minute meditation each day! It’s great for anyone.
Enjoy Time Alone Each Day
If you work, have kids, volunteer, or have other things keeping you busy, the best way to get through your day is to carve out a small window of time just for yourself.
Don’t rush hectictly through your morning. Start your day in the hot tub. It will help you feel relaxed, less stressed, happy, and in control of your day.
Take “me time” just for yourself, and you’ll start to notice a change for the better in every day!
Final Thoughts on Daylight Saving Time and Healthy Habits
Think of Sunday as a mini day for resolutions.
Use the gift of an extra hour to start your week off in the best way possible! You’ll soon notice you’ve created a terrific healthy habit right in your own hot tub!
