Many others use detergents to create the impressive foaming action, but they use a surfactant and hydrogen peroxide. This allows a different type of foaming action that is lighter, more effective, and easier to clean.
The hydrogen peroxide helps eliminate the scum that normally sits on the top of the foam. Then when you are draining, the scum sits on the sides of the hot tub shell and makes it more difficult to clean.
